Join us for our summer concert on Thursday 2nd July, 2:30-3pm at Immanuel & St Andrew Primary School!
Your child’s musical journey – fully supported
Raising children in a nourishing and immersive musical environment supported by positive relationships develops creativity, problem solving and analytical skills, physical coordination, discipline, academic achievement and – most importantly, a sense of belonging, fulfilment and FUN!
Raised by Music is a small community foundation based in South London. Our mission is to nurture the highest standards of musicianship in young people, with a particular focus on broadening access to high quality music education and increasing participation in classical music from under-represented backgrounds.
Congratulations to our Year 2 scholars at Immanuel and St Andrew Primary School!
Eliana, Zuri, Olivia, Camila, Hanna, Noa, Naomi and Storm started their musical journey in January 2026 and gave their first performance at our Easter showcase. We are so grateful to all our supporters who have made it possible for us to give this life-changing opportunity to a further 8 children. We’re looking forward to hearing them again at our summer showcase!
Our Year 4 cohort of scholars at Immanuel & St. Andrew Primary continue to make fantastic progress. They have had a busy year, performing twice with our wonderful friends at Water City Music in Guy’s Chapel, Kings College and producing fantastic Christmas and Easter showcase concerts. We have had some outstanding Grade 2 results too, and are excited to see some of the children starting to play with South London Youth Orchestra and Lambeth Music’s Saturday string orchestra. We’re looking forward to hearing them again at our summer concert on 2nd July as they prepare for grade 2 and grade 3 exams a couple of weeks later.
Raised by Music is a novel concept – scholars do not just have weekly 1:1 lessons on their instruments, but attend a session with specialist instrumental tutors every single day of the school year, starting in Year 2 and continuing until the end of Year 6. Instrumental lessons and practice sessions are completely free of charge and take place during the school day, making sure there are no barriers for children to accessing tuition.
We expect families to support scholars’ practice at weekends and in school holidays, and we organise sessions for parents/ carers to equip them with the skills needed to support practice at home.
